The annual event – arguably the most awaited in the Dota 2 scene – is looking for a host for it’s eleventh edition taking place in 2021. In an interesting turn of events Valve made a press release asking cities around the world to submit proposals for hosting the event.
The press release – acompanied by the video above – compares The International to other super events such as the NFL Superbowl, U.S. Open Golf Championship and the Eurovision Song Contest.
[…] one of the world’s largest sporting event setting numerous records for the largest prize pool in all of esports with it’s community-driven purse ($34.3 milion total prize pool in 2019).
