Geneva Motor Show cancelled amid coronavirus fears

The show is the latest in a series of trade show cancellations such as the Mobile World Congress or Facebook’s F8 conference.

Car shows are more than just an open exhibit for the public as auto makers invest millions of dollars into massive setups and announcements. Years of work go into preparing for each show and without it auto makers will need to search for new venues to show off their latest car models and trends.

We regret this situation, but the health of all participants is our and our exhibitors’ top priority. This is a case of force majeure and a tremendous loss for the manufacturers who have invested massively in their presence in Geneva. However, we are convinced that they will understand this decision

Maurice Turrettini, Chairman of the Foundation Board

The organizers are currently working on determining the financial consequences for all those involved.
