Today we get a glimpse at what’s under the hood of the upcoming Xbox Series X from none other than Microsoft’s head of Xbox Phil Spencer.
Xbox Series X is our fastest, most powerful console ever, designed for a console generation that has you at its center. This means a high-fidelity gaming experience enclosed in a quiet and bold design, with the ability to discover thousands of games across four generations, all with more playing and less waiting.

First, let’s have a look at the processors: custom designed processor leveraging AMD’s latest Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures. It has four times the processing power of it’s predecessor delivering a total of 12 TFLOPS of GPU performance which is 8 times that of the original Xbox One.
Variable Rate Shading (VRS): a patented technology which optimizes GPU performance by prioritizing effects on specific characters or game objects allowing for more stable frame rates at higher resolutions without compromising the final image quality.
Hardware accelerated DirectX Raytracing – a first in console gaming – meaning realistic real-time lighting, reflections and acoustics.
Plus a next-generation SSD, a new low-latency controller, HDMI 2.1 with low latency mode and variable refresh rate and 120 fps support, everything focused to reduce lag and offer the most responsive gaming experience.
