Cyber Monday has arrived, along with a bunch of fantastic game deals. But if you’re someone who’s been trying to buy the new Xbox Series X or Series S, you might be more concerned with finding out about the next Xbox restock than catching up on today’s discounts. The Xbox Series X stock situation has been hectic since preorders first opened in September, with subsequent restocks, including the ones on launch day, selling out immediately. And though stores like GameStop and Walmart offered another chance to buy the Xbox Series X on Black Friday, those restocks were equally chaotic. So if you’re here on Cyber Monday still empty-handed, you’re not alone.
The trend so far seems to be that some retailers are announcing Cyber Monday console restocks right as they happen. For example, Antonline restocked its Xbox Series X bundles today around noon ET and tweeted it right as they went live (they’re all sold out now). Adorama had a similar Cyber Monday restock for the PS5 today. So far, we’re not seeing Xbox restocks at any major retailers, like GameStop and Best Buy, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see them–we just may not get advance notice.
If any retailers announce restock times for the Series X or S during Cyber Monday, we’ll include that info here immediately. For now, read on for what we know about the Xbox restock situation at major stores.
Where to buy the Xbox Series X|S during Cyber Monday
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series X released on November 10 and are sold out everywhere.
GameStop Xbox Series X restock
GameStop restocked limited quantities of the Xbox Series X and S in stocks on Black Friday, November 27. It’s unclear how many units on average were available per store, but GameStop promised a minimum of two Series X units would be available at each location. Many hopeful Xbox Series X purchasers camped outside GameStop stores on Thursday evening with the hopes of being early enough to buy the console. There were also expensive bundles with games and controllers on the GameStop website that also sold out immediately.
Target Xbox Series X restock
Though Target’s Black Friday 2020 ad shows the Xbox Series X, the store only restocked the system on launch day. We have not seen Xbox restocks on Target since then. That’s not to say Target definitely won’t have any, but it’s the only major retailer that hasn’t restocked at least a few times.
Best Buy Xbox Series X restock
Best Buy has kept its Xbox restock plans vague. The store did announce it will not have any Xbox Series X or Series S units in brick-and-mortar stores until 2021, but though its Black Friday ad shows the Xbox Series X, the retailer would not confirm availability during the event. Instead, it told GameSpot the Xbox Series X/S will be up for purchase on BestBuy.com whenever units are available.
We’ve seen next-gen consoles pop up on Best Buy’s website without much warning. The most recent of these appeared to be November 28, which was the day after Black Friday. A queue system makes it a little less likely for scalping bots to get the system before you can. In the most recent restock’s case, the consoles were only available for in-store pickup, and not every store had them.
Walmart Xbox Series X restock
Walmart’s Black Friday sale went live Wednesday night, as did its highly-anticipated PS5 and Xbox Series X restock. Both consoles sold out almost instantly, including the disc-free models, and we’re not sure if Walmart will be getting more in just yet. Sony said the PS5 will get a restock before the end of the year, so it’s very possible the Xbox Series X and S could follow suit. If so, Walmart will likely show a time for this restock on the listings. Currently, they only have a general “sold out” notice.
Xbox Series X resellers
If you miss out on restocks at the major retailers, reseller sites like StockX have plenty of units available, though be prepared to pay more than list price. Right now, buyers are asking around $380 for the Series S and $730 for the Series X. If you do buy from a reseller, make sure the Xbox console you’re getting has the right type of plug for your region.
No other retailers have shared specific plans for restocking the Xbox on Black Friday and beyond. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @GameSpotDeals for the latest updates on Xbox availability. In the meantime, catch up on our Xbox Series X review for our console impressions and more details.

Xbox Series X|S games and Game Pass subscription
Microsoft is pushing its Xbox Game Pass subscription for next-gen, which grants access to a massive, rotating library of games for a monthly fee, including the ability to play first-party games like Halo Infinite on day one. There’s a great deal on three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions available right now for Cyber Monday, and these subscriptions stack, so even current subscribers can take advantage of the deal.
