The year 2017 was not an ordinary year for Samsung, because after the battery disaster with the Galaxy Note 7 at the end of 2016 Samsung had internally numerous production and quality assurance steps. These steps forced the Korean manufacturer to launch the Galaxy S8 late in the market in 2017. For 2018 and the Galaxy S9, however, the presentation will take place earlier in the year.
Since the Galaxy S5 in 2014, all Samsung Galaxy S smartphones have been presented year after year at the Mobile World Congress. Last year, this was unfortunately not possible, because Samsung because of the battery problems with the Galaxy Note 7 had to delay the performances of the S8 and S8 Plus, in order to rework production and quality assurance measures. These measures are now installed and the Korean manufacturer should return to the usual time and event for the launch of the Galaxy S9. This view is also the Russian Twitter Leaker Eldar Murtazin.
In the tweet, Eldar also mentions that the US version of the Galaxy S9 will again use Qualcomm’s high-end SoC. In recent days, there have been many rumors to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 that suggest that Samsung will not get any exclusivity for the Galaxy S9 as with the Snapdragon 835 in the Galaxy S8 this year. Rumors indicate that LG for the G7 cooperates with Qual command thus probably also the early access to the Snapdragon 845 is received. In the last few years, Chinese manufacturers have also increasingly been among the launch partners of Qualcomm. For the launch of the Snapdragon 845 could be next to Samsung and LG also Xiaomi and OnePlus the chip in their top smartphones 2018 received. It looks very much that the Mobile World Congress 2018 will be peppered with high-end smartphones, inside which the Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm will work.
