Here we are going to talk all about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 / S11, its features, price, and expectations.
Everything We Know About the GALAXY S20
Samsung has launched Note10 in Aug 2019, and the S11 flagship launch is on its way to Q1, 2020. Last year the company have launched S10 around MWC. Although there are many things we were expecting in S10 and we didn’t get. This gives some space for Note 11, Galaxy A80 and Fold smartphone. But, now it is time for the gadget freaks like us to think about the next sensation by Samsung “Samsung GALAXY S20“.
The Galaxy announcement is expected with Unpacked 2020 Event. It’s expect to happen around MWC 2020 which is expected to happen from February 24 to 27. Although we have noticed Samsung announces its flagship just before MWC. It’s expected to launch on Feb 11, 2020.
A SneakPeak for Galaxy S20: Samsung is about to make big changes with its upcoming Galaxy lineup. The new phablet is going to have a name change, it’s going to be called Galaxy S20 instead of Galaxy S11. However, its only leak there is no official confirmation but sources are confirming there will be three variants S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra. So, as of now, we are calling it Galaxy S11 as the name is still not confirmed by Samsung.
So a few days ago we learned that the Galaxy S11 won’t be called S11 after all. Instead, it will be named the Galaxy S20. The information came from Ice Universe where he said that 2020 is beginning of a new decade and that’s the reason Samsung wants to rename their new flagships to better match the new decade. Of course, it was still not confirmed that whether or not the name change is actually happening but we have more information today which suggests that Samsung is indeed calling their 2020 S series flagships as the GalaxyS20.
The S11e will be renamed to Galaxy S20, the S11 will be called the Galaxy S20 Plus and the largest variant in the S20 family will be called the Samsung Galaxy.

- In May 2019, Samsung has announced its new camera sensors with 48MP and 64MP. It’s expected that GalaxyS11 will have a 64 MP camera at the rear. We haven’t seen any major push in-camera from a while as from Galaxy S7 to S10 they have used almost the same technology. There are also talks for a 108-megapixel sensor that is used in the Xiaomi phablet sensor from Samsung.
- Samsung has recently invented its own 12GB DRAM, which is going to use in the upcoming S11. We might see, 6/8/12 GB variants with upcoming flagship.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 at least for US customers. Although Samsung is also working on a 5nm chipset for non-US version Samsung S11 phones.
Here’s our latest Comparisons we did:
Though Samsung is almost quite done with this year’s designing and releases, it has started to think about what is next to come. The rumours about the release of Samsung Galaxy S11 have started to heat up as soon as Galaxy S10 got launched. Though there have not been any official statements about the same we are making some calculated guesses looking at the prior statements and activities of the company.
If you are not wanting to change your smartphone anytime soon you can wait for Galaxy S11 which is going to be launched next year as Note10 is missing an important camera update. You can check complete Note10 Specifications here. The new device to be launched has forced the company to think about a certain matter which would again cause a lot of whirs around among the peers.
What buzz the 2020’s ‘to be’ darling has started creating? All the Rumours
Based on the calculations and guesses, there have been talks about the upcoming S series model in the industry. From the basic changes to the big decision like changing the name of the series, everything is being discussed.
Samsung Galaxy S11 /S20 as a 5G enabled device
Yeah! We know that we already have 5G enabled S10 variant but it has not yet released in every part of the world and would not be and also it has an increased. The company will not be taking a reverse gear with 4G connectivity.
Not only that, Samsung is reported to have a tie-up with Qualcomm to use its Qualcomm 5G chips in its flagships. The Qualcomm 5G chips are the chips that have an integrated 5G modem with the processor of the device. So the Galaxy S11 would be having 5G network connectivity in all of its variants without any extra charges. Sounds satisfying to us.
Samsung Galaxy S11 /S20 Rumours: No headphone jack and changed USB type
Samsung released its new Galaxy buds in March but the company has not yet removed the 3.5 mm audio jack like Apple and One Plus. There are high chances that Samsung will go along with the same idea and remove the audio jack from Galaxy S11 /S20 releasing next year.
Not only would the company by removing the 3.5 mm audio jack but also there are speculations by the ET-news that the company is thinking to change the USB type form Micro USB2.0 to type C.
3D facial recognition feature in Galaxy S11 /S20
Samsung is working on developing in-house 3D facial recognition similar to what Apple already has. According to the latest reports, the phablet will hold a ToF sensor camera at the front. S11 /S20 will have a dual punch hole camera setup at the front.

The Name Change: S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra
Update Dec 2019: The phone is expected to be in four different sizes 6.2 inches, 6.4 inches, 6.7 inches, and 6.9-inch display size. The 6.2-inch model will be called Galaxy S20 and the largest model 6.7 will be denoted as S20+and the largest variant in the S20 family will be called the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
which also has 5G networks.
With the increased number of models, the company is standing at a crossroad about something which might be an issue in the long term. A report from the Korean media states that the company is deliberating over the name of the new device. Samsung believes that the customers will not like long names as Galaxy S20, Twelve, Thirteen and so on. So changing the name would be a good idea for the company as Apple did the same with its iPhone X. Samsung had in mind to change the name of S10 itself but decided to hold on to the name for a little longer.
The decision of changing the name is not yet confirmed but we know for sure that the company is looking for some appealing names to continue the Galaxy S series Reign. If Samsung does change the name of the series or of the new upcoming models, it will surely create help the new model gain a lot of attention from the customers.
The same problem would arise for Note series as Galaxy NOTE 10 is soon to be released, the name issue would be the same for Note 11. But as the sources say, the company is only thinking about s series for the name change right now.
Samsung Galaxy S10 had different models with different prices ranging from $749 for Galaxy S10e to $999 for Galaxy S10 plus (base model). Similarly, Samsung might feature GalaxyS11 in three variants next year, there would be a range of price that we assume to be a bit higher than what S10 had. Therefore, the Galaxy S11 /S20 would be ranging from somewhere $950+ to $1900. It is quite high for a smartphone but with that many features, it is all worth the price.
The big question: When is the big reveal?
So how long do you have to wait till the next game-changer arrives?? It is quite a step ahead to think about the release date of Samsung Galaxy S11 when Galaxy S10 has just got released and Galaxy Note 10 is yet to be released. Keeping all that aside, going around with the previous releases of S series it is possible to have an idea about the big release.
We have two ways to collect the pattern which the company follows that leads us to the same time period of the release date of the latest S devices. Samsung has a pattern of releasing its S series around the Mobile World Congress Trade as deciphered by the previous launches and this year’s Mobile World Congress Trade is going to be held in the February end.
